Grateful

My friend from Texas called today. She was telling me about a lady in my old ward died on Sunday from cancer. She was only 48 years old. She has two children ages 14(girl) and 11 (boy). As we talked about this amazing women and her strength over the past few months. I was inspired to appreciate this mortal existence. Life is so short in the scheme of things. My friend was telling me that the mother and daughter went a couple of months ago and tried on wedding dresses. They didn't buy a dress, they just went and tried them on. It sounded a little strange to me at first. Then I really started to think about it. Now that her mom is gone, she will always have memories of her and her mom trying on dresses. So when the day comes that she does get married, she can remember her mom and the time they shared together looking at dresses. I thought that was so amazing. What courage. Life is so precious. I am grateful for life experiences that help me appreciate all I have.

I'm sorry for her family, and happy she is released from her suffering. Even though death of a loved one is the ultimate worst to think about. I think I've learned so much about myself and life when a friend or family member passes. It is a painful part of the plan. Sorry you lost someone you cared about.
