Tagged

I was tagged. Here is the fourth file and the fourth picture in that file. This picture is from June 2008. The girls had just finished riding on a float for the Art City Days parade. I have very fond memories of this parade when I was a child. I can't think of Art City Days and not think of Grandma Iris.

Halloween

I figure it's better late than never. Here are the pic from Halloween. We had a football player, pirate and a rock star. We had a fun night with the kids. It was the first time in 4 years that we got to trick or treat at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

We spent the rest of the evening at Kellie and Dustin's house. We ate pizza and played games. The kids had a great time. It was fun to spend the holiday with family. This pic of the kids, totally cracks me up. I love how Luke's hat is squished between his two sisters. Brooklyn is wearing Uncle Hans jersey from when he played in the AFL for the Utah Blaze. She thought that was pretty cool. I think Mya makes a pretty sweet rock star.

Obama

I just had to share what happened a couple of days ago. It was the day after the election, the kids had just got home from school. I asked Brooklyn if she knew who had been elected president? She proceeded to tell me Obama, Brooklyn really wanted him to win, any who, what came out her mouth next was total craziness. "Mom, my friend told me at school that now Obama is president that he's going to take God out of the pledge of allegiance, that girls can marry girls and boys marry boys and that if parents don't like their kids they can kill them." WHAT!!!! Needless to say I got to talk to my 10 year old daughter about gay marriage and abortion. It was awesome.

Fun in the Sun

On Saturday, we went shopping on front street. We found some fun things for the kids and had lots of laughs. It was so nice just being together without any kids. After 12 year of marriage it's hard to remember a time without any kids.

This is a picture of "Cheeseburger in Paradise" Does that burger look awesome or what. My hands barley fit around it. The restaurant sits on stilts over the ocean. The breeze and the sun felt so good.

I love how all the restaurant's on front street have open seating to the ocean. It makes it really fun.

That afternoon we went on a submarine. It was so cool. They took us down 130 feet below the surface. We got to see some amazing coral reefs, fish and even a sunken ship. How many times in your life can you say that you went on a sub. The yellow sub ride at Disneyland doesn't count!! The water was so blue and clear. I've never seen anything like it. Fun, fun, fun

I tried to look for any treasure but no luck.

This is a picture of us after we had finished our underwater expedition.

More Hawaii...

The second day of our trip Branden had to work. Poor Branden. I was on my own most of the day. I just laid out on the beach, swam in the ocean, read a book and stitched. It was awesome. It was so peaceful. It was some great R&R for me. Sorry no pics of me on the beach. I'm sure your all shedding some tears about that. They don't let you take pictures of beached whales....LOL

When Branden got back that evening we went to a luau at our hotel. It was fun. I think Branden really like the girls in hula skirts and coconut tops. Boy, did they shake it. The guys were half dressed themselves. It was kind of like going to a strip club but without the wad of ones.

This is probably one of my favorite pic from the whole trip. This is at the luau. We couldn't have asked for a better back drop. It almost doesn't look real. I love Hawaii. Who wouldn't want to be kissing on the beach when the sun is setting and it looks like this???

Aloha

I need to start off by saying thank you to everyone that help with my children while we were gone. I truly got to relax and enjoy my vacation because I knew that my kids were well taken care of. I love you guys!! This first picture is of us on the airplane getting ready to start our adventure.

We didn't get into Maui until 9:00 pm(1:00am in Utah). We got to our hotel about 10:00. It was pitch dark. I couldn't see anything but the lights from the hotels and streets. I always pictured landing in Hawaii and having it be like fantasy island. You know that TV show from the 80's. Big tropical plants a person greeting you with a lei. I was a little disappointed if I'm going to tell the truth. But we got the rental car and drove an hour to our hotel. In Hawaii it is pitch black at night. We stayed at the Royal Lahaina Resort. They ended up making a mistake on our reservation and they bumped us up to a nicer room...way nicer. We ended up with a beach front cottage!! The ocean was right out our back door. This is a pic from our back door.

It was simply breath taking.

I felt so spoiled. The night we got there. Branden had made arrangements for some flowers to be in the room. I think he was trying to get lucky. It was so sweet that he wanted everything to be perfect.

I was thinking, everyday this week I'll post some more pictures of the places and things we did while we were there. Until tomorrow.......Aloha
