Halloween parade at Valencia Elementary
Some fun pictures of the kiddos at their Halloween parade at school.
Mya's entire third grade learned Michael Jackson's thriller dance. They performed it for the school at the parade. It was so fun to watch. It brought me right back to when I was in 2nd grade, when the song and video had just become a huge hit. (Does that make me old?)
Jedi Master Luke
Polar bear princess

Vampire bride
Brook and her friend Robyn
Just a short clip of Mya performing her awesome dance moves. Mya is standing on the leftside.

Surprise
On Monday the kids didn't have school. So we surprised the kids and took them to Disneyland. Perk #2 of living in California. I had never been there at Halloween time. They have it all decked out.

The best part of the day was when we ALL got to go on the Indiana Jones ride. Luke was finally tall enough to get on the ride.(with a little help from his shoes)

I should have videoed his response after they measured him. Totally hilarious. Jumping up and down saying, "Yes, Yes!!"

Luke giving the all clear sign....

New Blog

I've been thinking for awhile that I need a blog dedicated to my creative endeavours. The blog is called Blooming Iris. I put a direct link on the top of my sidebar. Go over and checkout what I've been up to.

Saturday is a special day...
I am loving some of the little perks of living in California. Going to the beach would have to be #1.

Kiddos digging for sand crabs. They dug this ginormous hole. I just kept waiting for some unsuspecting person to fall into it and break their leg. Is it a foe paw to where swimming goggles at the beach?

Good times......

Proud Mom
I was so proud of Luke today. He was one of six children from the entire Kindergarten to receive a citizenship award. Yes, you all heard right. Luke got an award for being good. There have been may days that I thought, I could possibly lose my mind from that kid. Like the time Luke and I got kicked out of story time at the public library, or when the Walmart greeter told me I just needed to give him a good spanking or when he took "out" a strangers kid at McDonald's. Today I saw hope. Hope that not all is lost. So for today I'm going to celebrate. We've definitely earned it. Congratulations Luke!

Before and After
Before the fairy Godmother....

After,I think I'll ask her to come back!

I told myself that I couldn't start my new projects until the office/craft room was cleaned and put away....Poof!!!
The new projects

This adorable vintage sewing table kept calling my name at the thrift store. She had been verbally abused and needed someone to take her home that could appreciate her true value.(someone painted a knotty word on the inside of the door...) So for $15.99 I picked her up. She came with on old Kenmore sewing machine, that lifts up from inside. The sewing machine in this picture I got from my Grandma Crandall. It was one of the items that I was so lucky to inherit. (thanks Aunties) My mom thinks the sewing machine might have been my Great Grandma Clara's? Needless to say I am so happy with it. Grandma Crandall took good care of her. She had the electrical cords redone. I tried her out the other day and she sews beautiful.

This is the sewing machine she came with. Soon to be replaced with my great-grandma's vintage sewing machine. So fabulous!!

Wanna make one?
I saw this idea on Modgepodge rocks blog the other day and have been obsessing ever since. Something similar will be my new sewing table. I have been scouting out the Goodwill stores in my area, with no luck. Hopefully soon I will have a treasure of my very own.

So happy together

Thirteen years ago today I married my prince charming. Before all of you start to gag, let me list the reason's why I think so.
1. He treats me like a Queen.
2. He has rescued me several times when I have been in distress.
3. Adores me endlessly.
4. Is always first to apologize.
5. Constantly telling me how much I mean to him.
6. Picks me up when I fall.
7. Makes me believe in myself.
8. Last but not least "....and they lived happily ever after"
(Now you can all proceed to gag.)

Really???
I saw this sign at Swiss Days in Utah. "No Size is ever the wrong size" Really???? So what your saying is, a Double "D" is just as good as an "A" and a size 24 is just as good as a 4...awesome. I think that's a hall pass for an additional scoop of ice cream tonight, because no size is the wrong size!
