Mya's Story

I was tidying up some papers and came across this story that Mya wrote in school this past year. It is a really sad story about her dog Bob that went to the farm(we all know what that means). I need to give a little history about Mya and Bob before you read the story. When we moved to Texas in 2003, Mya was 3 1/2 years old. She spoke very little, maybe 10 words or less. Branden had just brought home 2 puppies for the girls. He bought them from the side of the road, not his best idea. They were probably puppy mill dogs. In the process of naming the dogs, I turned to Mya and said. "Mya can you say Bob?" Mya responded with "Bob". "Then that's your dogs name" I said. I know it sounds funny but I really wanted her to be able to speak her dogs name. Mya and Bob had quite the relationship. He only liked Mya. He was very aggressive and had a bad temperament. When we would feed the two dogs, Bob would growl and bite at anything that came close to his food. One day after feeding the two dogs, we came outside to find that Bob and bit the other dog and killed her. Needless to say when the kids and I made our summer trip to Utah, Branden took Bob to the farm. Mya has never recovered. She will still cry to this day over her dog Bob. Almost every story she writes in school is about her dog Bob that went to the farm. Now on to the story.....

One day I was a new dog. I was doing homework and my Dad got me a dog. My sister has a dog too. My dog's name is Bob. It was a boy. It was night when I got him. I went to sleep. My dog bit my sister's dog dead. When it was morning and my sister's dog was dead, my Dad took my dog to the farm. I was gloomy and so so sad. I loved him. The end

You probably can't see this picture very good but the brown spot is her sister's dead dog and Mya is on the right saying..."my dog went to the farm"
I love you Mya and your wonderful stories about Bob the dog.

OH! That is precious!

Kind of ironic, but our dogs always went to the circus. Our parents took us to the Barnum and Baily circus in SLC one year, and no kidding...we spent three hours looking for Harry, Dotty and Spot. :(

OM GOSH! That is so darn sweet! Tell Branden...no more dogs from the side of the street! (I'm sure you've already done that) You do have some unique pet stories...I still think about poor Coconut!
