We had the best Valentines Day. We spent the day together as a family. We played games, watched movies and ate heart shaped pizza. The kids really enjoyed themselves. The highlight of the day was first thing in the morning. The girls had slept over at Jennifer's house so it was just Luke and I for breakfast. He really wanted pancakes. So the inner battle began. Do I make heart shaped pancakes for Luke? He would never know if I just skipped the tradition of heart pancakes on Valentines. Ahh, he doesn't care. Then the feelings of being the worst Mom in the world ascended. Wow, Angela, you would do it for the girls. So I proceeded to make Luke the heart pancakes. As I handed Luke his breakfast, the look on his faces was priceless. "Mom I just want pancakes!" He then falls to the ground in tears because he doesn't want hearts, we just wants pancakes. I guess you can't win them all.

you may not win every battle but it sounds like you are winning the war! I love reading your blog. It makes me realize how much I miss you.
So funny!! That is totally something Bryton would do. I was feeling so bad that I missed the valentine pancake tradition that I made them Sunday. Bryton just took one look and said "mom I need them cut" Being a mom comes with a lot of guilt sometimes. You are a great mom!!
Isn't that just the way life is as a mother. Next year he will remember them and want them guarenteed. You will be blessed for keeping the tradition alive.
You are the best mom ever! Heart Pancakes! <3 So cute!
Just for the record... I love your playlist! I have been listening to it while I have been studying today. It's Wonderful!
